Here you go! but to be Fair, it isnt the Stock Cooler ( 72-80 Degrees Wouldnt be Possible with the Stock Cooler :D ) I mounted an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo on it well, its now a 3 Slot GPU… but Ice Cold.
950 MHZ is Very Stable, no Problems so far - 970 Mhz are stil Possible for my Card - on 970 Mhz it Mines like a Beast but i cant use the Desktop anymore, as soon as I move the Cursor, the Driver Crashes. But if I dont touch the Mouse, and turn the Screen off it runs Stable… 525 Khash I think.

Interesting, I might try those settings on my Ref 6950 shortly. I do have it shader unlocked via bios switch so I should be able to match your figures.
I haven’t played around with MSI much yet (not unlocked the voltage as it’s not needed at present) and I have been running this card at 1030 / 1525 for BTC mining. Might have to play around. :P

My current config as it stands for my 6950:

          This is awesome!

Sorry to threadjack, but can I use that MSI application on my machine running AMD RADEON cards?

MSI Afterburner is intended for AMD/ATi cards yes.
Alternative software would be using AMDs CCC or Sapphire Trixx.

Actually you dont need to OverVolt your GPU if you set the Power Limit to 20+ ( in my Experience ) you have to Overvolt alot to get more Stability, and at this point yo reach a Critical Temperature very Fast - 80+ will Harm the Card LongTerm plus enables the Throttling, leading to just a little increase in Khash.

I want to add that I had better results with just one GPU Thread, 2 didnt increase the Khash but the Temperature - but I dont know for a flashed 6950, if it works for you, go on :)

One last Question - your Fan is on 95%? I hope its not the Stock fan ^^

Yes, it is the stock casing and fan. And 95% (or even 100%) fan is perfectly fine.
It’s been calculated that the GPU itself will die off before the fan does when running 100%. A little tidbit of information for you. :3

Besides, if you look at my temperatures… Pretty much a solid 60C using a Reference exhaust cooler. It’s why I love Reference cards so much :P

Didn’t manage to eek out any more khash with you config, just thrown my card upto some higher clocks (1000 Core / 1500 Mem / 1.210v) and it’s mining at 480khash perfectly without any major temperature increases. (Holding around 65C now).

I think I’ve got every chance to tweak the 500 mark out of it, but for now. I’ll leave it happily mining away. Thanks for the advice and ideas though !

Its not the Temperature, its the Noise these things create :D I sleep next to my Servers and Pcs - and the stock cooler on 50% is already way too loud, but the Arctic Colling is very silent, the Noise level at 100% is comparable with 5% on the Stock cooler…
No seriously, this Radial Thing sounds like a big Hair dryer…

I dont know the Difference in Terms of khahs between a flashed 6950 and a 6970, but 480 khash at 65 degrees - and a lower price then the usual 6970, thats pretty neat! I guess the 6950 has limited Power draw, limiting it to a certain TDP…

The GPU doesnt have a LImited Lifetime, as long as you dont run it out of Max Temperature :) 65 degrees are no Problem, actually the Max Temp is around 100… :D

Mhmm, most graphics cards released, built and or manufactured in about the last 10 years are actually built to last. (Unlike most/all other components in a computer).

I used to (without any real choice of my own) run my GPUs for BTC mining at the 90C mark for weeks on end and theres not a single fault with them. :D

And the last point, noise, I must be either blessed or forsaken with relatively poor hearing. I mean, whilst I’m awake my hearing is pitch perfect but I can sleep through the loudest of noises and happenings. Earthquakes, Alarmclocks, GPUs @ 100% fan, etc. :P

Edit: Tomorrow I intend to do a little more tweaking with the 6950 and see what hashrates I can really work out of it. At present I’m only using I=17 too.

                      Dont forget the Cpus! ;)

Yes! Gpus tend to run perfectly on Higher Temperature Flaawless, the only problem is that they have a decreased lifetime…

i hate noise when i want to sleep :D

looking forward for your results :)

For the Wattage/Hashrate of a CPU. I’d rather not. :P || At my disposal (if I wanted) I have:
                        Intel 3930k C2 @ 4.3GHz / 12 Threads (7970 x2)
                        Intel i5-650 @ 4GHz / 4 Threads (4890 x2)
                        AMD Phenom II 1090T @ 4.5GHz / 6 Cores (6950 x1)
                        AMD Athlon II 635 @ Stock / 4 Cores (Nothing at present) (Have a spare 4890 / 5570)
                        AMD Llano 3400 @ 4GHz / 2 Cores (APU) (6450)
                        ^_^
