Right on cue, Hashrate is now 2 GHs.

Make that 3.5Gh/s.I smell another difficulty trap coming up…
[s]It was always bound to go to 133. Extra hashes won’t change anything.[/s]
Last time we retained more hash after the jump. Hopefully this time we will remain above 1 Gh/s
EDIT: Coinchoose not reporting the lower difficulty may have saved us. Fingers crossed.
Yeah but retargetting at 3 to 5 days is about LTC performance so we’re good. I have an idea though.

Help me out here…
Do we not want more hashes to block potential attacks?
Coinchoose saved us by showing higher profitability with the lower hashrate.
I am confus.

We do want more hashes, however we would like to reward the consistent miners over the “pump-dump” miners who currently cause this difficulty cycle. -
Yes this is becoming very frustrating. I have stayed on FTC through the hard times, and once the diff goes down we are getting an influx of miners who drive the diff up and then abandon us. I thought PPLNS was suppose to reward consistent mining, but as stated above the bigger miners come in, take the coins, and leave.
Sorry for the rant, but it is frustrating.

The only thing I can think of is everyone who is a consistent miner switch away from known pump and dump pools then concentrate in a given location to build up considerable hash power. The problem of PPLNS can’t really help against someone with a 20MH+ rate which throws the build up rate out of whack unless everyone is around that rate. Most of the consistent miners are not.

A faster difficulty retarget time would greatly reduce this, wouldn’t it?
-
Is the profitability up because FTC is up or is it because BTC is down, a lot?
I think mostly to do with the value of FTC. the profitability is based on BTC, so the actual value of BTC shouldn’t be relevant.
This is the problem though, all the other coins have fallen in value while FTC has increased. we are once again at the top of the profitability table on CoinChoose and so everyone has switched over.
No. Beyond a happy spot, faster retarget gets you the same problems as slower retarget.

yeah, looks like the net is at 5.5 gigahashes… Slightly ridiculous! up on 0.8 from yesterday :-/
That’s all right, we’re still more profitable than BTC or LTC. Although the next difficulty seems a bit high (133->~180), BTC is going from 15.6M to ~19M in less than 2 days, and LTC is likely to follow.
LTC looks like it’s finally nose diving again. Can’t sustain its miners with the declining value.
Rant is justified. I am also one of the miners who stick through the hard times. I find it incredibly irritating as well.

With LTC nose diving, we’ll getting more waves of miners on the difficulty changes. We are committed to taking care of long-term miners, we’re open to suggestions on how to track and encourage pools to reward.

Difficult to have those discussions when you don’t give an idea of what you can reward with?I don’t think its any secret that Bushstar and maybe yourself have alot in the coffers (from being early adopters or even and pre-mine)
So what are you willing to give out? How do YOU want to reward. Most users on here are miners, I don’t think we wish to reward ourselves

1. Please see the sticky on the in the main forum called Feathercoin myths. I created a video just for you to save me time. :)

2. I’m building my first rig this weekend, never mined a day in my life. I bought from people like Cyberdyne and XorXor at 14 LTC / 1000 and then quickly to 19 on Bitcointalk. All that’s documented and verifiable.
It’s just hard for some to understand grassroots. I was the guy painting Ron Paul sign on the weekend and being ‘moved along’ when I was sign waving them. I organized massive meetups / projects and didn’t see 1 cent.
Nice try. :)

BOOM! Feathercoin myths to the rescue. ;) Just to make sure we’re on the same page:
1. Both my information and Bushstar’s is public - We never met, no similar circles (Midwest guy, UK Bush)
2. Bushstar has publicly said time and time again there was no planning of this blowing up
3. I just happened to be looking for a grassroots project I could attach to quickly. I saw what I didn’t like about the LTC community and wanted to try my hand at possibly leading something
4. Amazing people came to flock to the coin@$#@ me. If I knew it would have blew up this quickly, I would have bought in long before $40-$60 per thousand. There it is, I’ll include it in a few video so I can just point to those as well.
Just for fun, here’s my rough for the scam coin / crap coin the kids are saying these days:

Interesting videos. Thanks. I think a lot of people both in the community and considering coming in to the community will appreciate that community leaders such as yourself go to this sort of effort and actually include your name / face. Makes the whole thing that much more trustworthy.

I appreciate the comment. I’m just some guy that feels an obligation to help:
