I will be more conservative and call it $1.00 Feathercoins by the end of the year.

My personal thought would be yes, although somewhat reserved. The dynamic within crypto is quickly changing, due to to any number of variables, asics for one are changing how bitcoin is brought to market. Its interesting to see that bitcoin has the limelight yet currently not for all the best reasons (current downward trend). Many outside of the mining community, or the general public “joe investor” might be seeing this as a downward investment trend. So the question is whether the public will be looking elsewhere.

My personal thought is that new alts from this time forward are becoming dead in the water, they are still pumping them out like crazy. But after thoroughly examining values and demands, they stagnate quickly. wdc dgc and a few other that possibly had potential are still valued at well below 100k $, currently feathercoins sits at 6th with over 800k $ in value. Not to base it on value alone, but the public and investors alike are fickle.

I see an opportunity with feathercoin to stand alone, a moment to shine. But at the moment I cant speak to the opinion of the new crypto user, market trends, asic users, and the possibility of ltc hash coming our way for stealing their “sure thing”, although we may have very little effect on their 40 million dollar market cap.

anyways thats my two feather pennies

It all depends on a Fiat -> FTC exchange!

As long as there is no way around BTC we are doomed if BTC is doomed.

This is why, imho, we should have top top priority tasks:

1. Start up a Fiat -> FTC exchange (so that people can get FTC).
2. Build/extend/support/promote a Android Wallet app (so that people can spend FTC).

Not really ;) Trade volume is like $30 for the last 7 days. I guess that’s because it’s such a pita to get USD, EUR to Vircurex.

Was thinking more like bitstamp or MtGox kinda service to get Fiat -> FTC.

what may also play a major role is in which country gets the next global currency reserve title currently held by the United States. The 2 real contenders are Europe and China. Currently in the USA, bitcoin is being heavily watched and attacked by the govt, once USA loses the title of global reserve currency, i believe this will open the doors completely to Bitcoins and others .Just like in any other investment or business, you have to look at the base foundation and evaluate their mission ,team and development support to see who will be left standing when the dust settles. A lot of these new start up coins now are just in for the quick buck and they don’t really care if they last long as that is not their objective. Not saying that the coins that have great missions and teams and development can not fail, its just that they are far more capable of succeeding.
Anyways thats my 2 “goldbits” today. :)

But will you sell what your BTC before it drops or just average down?
