Does anyone know how long it takes to get the activation email?

well had my email open whole time–and in 19 hours no email so i will just make a second account or try a second with same credentials and go from there.

Yes instantly on second account–so now i guess i got 2 accounts --1 basically unusable and inactive due to no ability to get the activation link resent. i can not even access the account until this email link is confirmed.
but i have already posted a item in the marketplace on second account–so good to go there :)
