I’m new to Feathercoins, and I found out about FTC after not being able to mine BTC by googling about LiteCoin. Also, I’ve been researching it and apparently 1080FTC is 1BTC, which is about £64. Is this correct? Are there any pools that you would suggest joining for mining FTC?

The main reason I started this thread was that after about 4 hours of Googling I couldn’t find any FTC mining software for Mac. I’m using Mac OS X 10.8.4, and here are my machine specs:

MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012
4GB RAM
Core i5 2.5GHz
Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB

I don’t know if this good enough for mining FTC, so please let me know :D

So yeah, any FTC mining software for Mac that will work on those specs? I have Ubuntu 12.10 and Windows 7 on it, so if I need Windows I’ll use it, but I’d prefer you suggest Linux mining software before Windows as I HATE Windows.

Also, this is my first post on the forums, so HIAAA!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks! Any help is appreciated! :D

I havent mined BTC or LTC in over a year and a half but if I were to guess you might get a coin or two a day mining with this…maybe.

Depends.

Anyways welcome to the community! ;D

Greetings fellow Mac owner. I would strongly discourage you from mining on a laptop for long periods of time due to thermal damage. I broke my laptop fan mining BTC and LTC ages ago and now it makes a rattling sound.

If you want to mine on a mac you need https://github.com/ycros/cgminer/downloads search for “https://github.com/ycros/cgminer/downloads”

Then put the minerd file in to your home folder, type up Terminal from Spotlight join a pool like D2. Then follow instructions from there but it will involve typing in to terminal something like “./minerd --url…”

But again I would warn against doing this on a laptop.

Oh sorry and you will want to mine with your GPU so that miner may not work so try this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCCJMn2VS2M

Hope this helps.
