Hey guys. I need some advice on a mining rig.

So tempted to buy: https://www.kncminer.com/products/jupiter but dubious about ROI. Then thinking about BTC Erupters, the consensus is no to that too from advice given to me.

But also FTC. Spoke to Bush at Oxford. He said FPGA miners were on horizon for FTC.

How would you spend £1.2k to £2k on a mining rig for FTC? Obviously getting the best hash rate possible.

If I had to put my money on a single bitcoin ASIC company I would go with cointerra. The team has some pretty solid resume’s on their website.

I subscribed to their newsletter and waiting for any specs./prices/terms. Looks promising so far.

IMHO you’ll struggle to keep up with the curve with Asics now. As quick as you can get your asics, others will get them quicker. And an Asic cant be repurposed later.

Personally i would GPU mine and when the Asics for scrypt come around, get on the first lot of pre-orders else you’ll be a bit late to catch the boat. That in itself is a gamble though as it may be a scam as you know.

If you are looking for a mining rig to build now, for ~around £1600 i could build a script rig good for just over 3Mh/s. With top quality components. Open air though as they run HOT.

Check out http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency. This will give you a pretty fair idea of profitability of mining scrypt(FTC) vs SHA(BTC) coins based on how much hashing power you plan to put into either.

Also take a look at http://mining.thegenesisblock.com. If this is accurate, there really isn’t room for hobbyists in the BTC mining game much longer. That’s my opinion anyway.
