Generally, you have to download the dependency libraries and the source code.
Highly recommended that you compile the source code by your own instead of taking already compiled binaries for security reasons.
The source code lays here https://github.com/FeatherCoin/FeatherCoin and the readme for compiling on linux systems is located in the doc/build-unix.txt file.
It it pretty simple when following the readme ;)
By the way, im pretty sure that the guide you looking for is exist maybe not for Feathercoin but that doesn’t matter, the only difference is building different source.

I think we could do with a Feathercoin - FAQ - with guides to do things like this, mining p2pool, use a wallet.

It maybe already here, around the forum, but needs to be pulled together into index and forum tab?

It sounds like you are using a shared web host and not an actual dedicated server or VPS if you aren’t sure the operating system… If this is the case, you aren’t going to be able to install the daemon.

You need direct access to the machine at a root / administrator level and the exact installation process varies by operating system. If you need a cheap solution, check out DigitalOcean. You can get a $5 VPS with Ubuntu and follow one of the Ubuntu guides for getting it set up.
And when I set the DigitalOcean stuff up to try mining primecoin, I was able to do it with a coupon code, so, for free on the most basic for a month:

http://www.retailmenot.com/s/digitalocean

Think you had to have a credit card and if you tried the paypal option it wouldn’t take the coupon code, but his mileage may vary.
]i’d pay some FTC for a guide to how to use fethercoin
That said, some quick calculations will show that mining on DigitalOcean with that $5 server will essentially convert that $5 of credit into $0.30 worth of FTC. Which is a solid meh for what I see.

Only do it if you’re just wanting to learn to know how to do it. It’s value is only going to be in the knowledge of then knowing how to do a remote, command line install.
