Is there anything out there where people can have an opportunity to earn ftc, but not by mining? I have some friends who like the idea but don’t have the funds to mine well. Just wondering, if anyone knows of anything it would be appreciated.

Sort of like Amazon Mechanical Turk? Not yet.

I did run across something the other day that supported posting what you can offer to do and get paid in alternate currencies. I’ll see if I can find it again.

Work for Feathercoin would be awesome as it would introduce an alternative price signal other than the dreaded BTC/FTC price which everyone obsesses over. This kind of diversity is key.

Any suggestions on how we could achieve this hacker style?

I’m not sure if this is just stating the obvious but there is the feathercoin marketplace you could post made or reseller items on there to make feathercoins. :)

I totally agree on how that diversity will be key. It would make people less stressed out, but what exactly do you mean by working for feathercoin?

I think the suggestion was more along the lines of mechanical turk style operations like proof reading a series of websites, doing some surveys, looking at ads etc.

Yeah that’s what i figured when you said that. That would be a great idea to start small jobs like that. I would test it out for sure. Ill brainstorm ideas for fun and see if i can think of anything.

Pay for jobs in Feathercoin. I also been thinking on these lines. Sounds a very possible thing to try, and potentially a great way forward. Basically, a simplified variant of the Kickstarter idea.

                    Job:
Type out manuscript, 25 FTC p/page
                    ~100 pages UK

Maybe we should start with a list of “internet jobs” that could be done, and controlled by an “open source” none centralised, mechanism. So the system is specific and achievable. There is also, then, room for an entrepreneur as a monitored / fee based system for business, in the longer term.

I’ve just posted in the Services section of the Marketplace forum offering services as a proof reader, and there are many other offers of skills for FTC there. I think that would be the natural place to develop a market for services like these.
