I recently discovered that http://www.dahms-weinversand.de/ is already taking Feathercoin.

I big German delivery service started accepting Bitcoin: http://www.lieferservice.de/

Which made me think:
(1) Maybe we should focus our activities on stores that already take Bitcoin.
They should have a much lower “inhibition threshold” when it comes to Cryptocurrencies.

(2) Both stores are in Germany. It seems Germans are almost as Bitcoin crazy as the Chinese. So we should put more effort in the German market?

I am a native German speaker - with some support (from marketing pros (I am IT)) I could be of some help.

I think we shoud not focus on having more and more shops using feathercoin if no deal is done using it.
I think we need to help those who already accept it to make more and more business using FTC, spread the word that it works and then new ones will ask for it

I am not specialist in marketing but does it make sense ?

We are not in position to choose what is better. All kind of adoption is good for us.

Going after the individual shops is a waste of effort. What you should be going after is the payment processors those shops use!

Think about it. Does a mom and pop store design, build, and maintain their own credit card processors and PoS terminals? Do major retailers? No, of course they don’t. They all buy and use the same PoS terminals and credit card processors. If you convert JUST ONE payment processor, you convert ALL the shops that use that payment processor. You could target one shop, or you could target 100,000 with the same effort.

Why would you, as a business owner, accept the argument that they should ditch their existing tried and true payment processor, which is already accepting Bitcoins just fine, and use someone’s hobby project which is behind the times and isn’t making the news 6 times daily to do their transactions using their mobile phone? If I were a shop owner, I’d laugh at you and go back to ringing up my customers like I had been doing. But if my payment processor called me to say, “By the way, you can now accept these other currencies using your existing system with no changes required.”, that would be a game changer.

One Troo Coin to Luke them over
One Troo Processor to bind them
One Troo Forum for the masses
And in the trollbox we will ride them

There is a simple reason why: Those want something do it. Those who want to feed of someone else’s success are called Associates.

I guess you’re right and this is mandatory.
But for shops who already accept FTC, if we can market that FTC is a more interesting currency for them than bitcoin or litecoin because it has more potential and/or FTC help them to do more business I think it will leverage the coin. Then they could spread the word naturally and they will be more and more adopter.

I agree, crypto is already becoming useful for currency transfer. This payment processors idea is one way it could quickly become mainstream. The shop could use either of the payment boxes, you don’t have to replace the old one.

Also, could that payment processor be by SMS or a mobile phone application? So it could be used by new markets with no card systems? ie Africa
