the R9 2XX series is the old 7XXX series with new id prefixes.
would be nice to see a new generation of cards.

the 8000 series is an OEM only series and will be seen in a few laptops and thats it. The 9000 series got a new name and its the R7 and R9 series of cards. All are rebranded version s of the 7000s except the R9 290/290x with new firmware/bios.
