So, I’m currently starting uni, and won’t have a lot of time for gaming any more…

So in the meantime, I want to put my gaming rig to good use, and mind some coins.

Here are the specs:
gigabyte windforce GTX670
Core i5 3570k(running at 4GHz)
8GB ram

Yes, I’m aware mining with nvidias is harder, but I’ve seen a few pools link to CUDA miners.
Problem is, when I try to load up the CUDA miner(this one), it just gives me a sort of error that it failed to connect. here)

You need to download and install the cuda toolset from the NVIDIA website in order to get Cudaminer running. 8)

See :
https://developer.nvidia.com/category/zone/cuda-zone

for infos about cuda

Whoops.

Good thing I asked.

Any particular version, or is any version good?

Got the cudaminer to work(at 185 KH/s for my gfx card. can’t tell if it’s good or not…), but am having trouble starting up the CPU miner…

I’m using CPUminer 2.3.2, and the guide from which I downloaded the version had this template:
minerd -o “miningpool:port” -O USERNAME:PASSWORD
So I switched everything up according to the template, and the bat file sort of insta closes on double click…
minerd -o miningpol:port -O MaxWyght.CPU:password
No idea what I’m doing wrong…
please help ><

I wouldn’t even bother trying to mine with cpu/gpu simultaneously. Your proc will likely run around 55 kH/s, so I would stick with the GPU and tweak that for performance and stability. I hope someone with the expertise comes along to really answer your question though :)
