There are some ugly news spread around regarding Feathercoin. Bushstar, could you please say a few words to that?

“Fueled by the bitcoin buzz in the spring of 2013, feathercoin was created as a direct clone of litecoin. The creator unfortunately, could not implement the fork properly to get feathercoin off to a good start. The genesis block needs to be unique to feathercoin; however, the genesis block was copied directly from litecoin. …”

“From the beginning, this coin has lazily copied from others, and has done nothing innovative. That trend continues to this day. You may remember about 6 weeks ago feathercoin added a “new” feature called Advanced Checkpointing.
It’s a nice feature, sure, but the feathercoin devs aren’t the creators of it. This feature was originally part of PPCoin, and yet, no credit is given. One must dig around on github to see that Sunny King (PPcoin dev) authored the commit. There’s no mention of him anywhere in the release post.”

Both of those articles are so terribly researched and filled with complete bullshit that it’s not even worth addressing. I originally posted about the cryptolife piece when it first came out, but after some input from the community - I will agree in saying that no response is needed. He edited the article multiple times to fix his errors, and only created more errors for himself.

OK, I did read that thread. Essence is: We did use the code from Sunny King, no?

What about the second “accusation”? Did we really simply copy the Litecoin genesis block?

Haters gonna hate.

I’ve seen so many people on Bitcointalk put FTC down and slag it off for various reasons for the past couple of weeks, yet they seem to have gone quiet now haha.

On day one maybe it was true that feathercoin was an amended fork of litecoin I don’t see an issue with this considering litecoin was an amended fork of bitcoin.
Its funny that someone can complain that its just a exact copy and also complain about the development that has been done.
Has can it be a exact copy and be different due to development.

Second point is this is a open source project a clever programmer does not reinvent the wheel. We saw a perfect solution to our problems and asked the very person who invented that idea to help implement it. Why is that so mad.

Ignore this idiot and his rambling posts.

Hazard hates FTC, nuff said. Most all of this was addressed in the comments section under his article as well, where he retracts the part you quote. It’s also been addressed many times on this forum. Haters gonna hate.
