      So I’m currently mining with my gaming pc, which has a GTX670 installed in it(Hurray for 186 KH/s -.-).

      Now, I can get my hands on a factory sealed gigabyte 7950 for roughly 100$(Dirt cheap from what I found online), and I have a question.

      I have an 800w PSU installed, and a case with a decent airflow(It’s got 4 fans on the case alone, along with all the fans for the hardware, which means my GPU stays in the frosty 45C when idle, and a warm 65C during intense gaming.

      Since my technical knowledge is pretty limited, I’m coming here to consult with you guys;

      Is it possible to install the 7950 on my current computer, without removing the 670, and have the 7950 mining while the 670 processes all the graphics stuff if the computer’s not idle?

      I found on Tom’s hardware an older thread(Like… 6 months old) saying that you can run them separately, but I would rather have a more detailed explanation >>

        Yes you should be able to do this. If you have the correct slots on you motherboard. In mine I have 1 x pcie 16 and 2 x pcie 1 so I can run three graphics cards.

        I am uning pcie riser cables just to get the card a little bit further away from the PC and other cards.
        You can select which GPU you want to mine with via cgminer which is my miner of choice. Anyway there is much more info on this thread

            i think you could. but that you could be into a bag og hurt stability/driver vice…
            in theory yes. in pracsis, meeeh.

            why not just sell the 670 and buy a new 280X (7970 with 750khash)?

              I think I just might.
              it’s time for a system format anyways, so driver installations won’t be a problem.
