Buying FTC directly or via BTC, difference?

Hi guys,
At Crypto-Trade you can buy FTC directly via $ or via BTC.
But when using their calculator with the current market I get the following result:- 500 FTC in $ = 456.99999999 $ & 1 FTC fee.
- 500 FTC in $ = 0.47189999 BTC & 1 FTC fee & 0.00000189 BTC fee = 431.78849085 $
So that’s a difference of ± 25$ … Even with the extra fee it’s still better.
Why would anyone in his right mind be buying FTC directly via $ ?Am I looking at this completely wrong or is my assumption correct?

That’s a very interesting observation…
Maybe it’s because people are bailing btc for ftc.
I honestly wouldn’t have a clue…
Crunch the numbers again in a few days time once btc is back on it’s way up again?
