Windows cannot Detect my 16x Card in the 1x slot.

I searched and I could not find anything on this. I bought a 1x to 16x riser cable and plugged it in so I could run dual 7850s and windows is not detecting my card, I even tried the jumper cable trick and still no good. Anyone have any other ideas? Both Video Cards are brand new.

research your motherboard and see if anyone else as this problem. be nice if some made a 16x powered splitter to to 16x. i have seen a 1x to 4 1x board on ebay. it was like $69 so it lets you plug 4 cards into 1 1x . lol

I seen those. I finally got it working. I had to plug the monitor into the video card that was in the 1x slot and then it booted up and installed the drivers for it.
