      Hi,

I currently have a Gigabyte r9 280x in my PC running Win 7 which I currently use for mining. The voltage is locked on this card, so I am unable to undervolt it using software like Gigabyte OC GURU or MSI Afterburner. From what I’ve read it is still possible to undervolt the card through the bios, however I have been unable to find a good guide as to how to do this.

Has anyone been able to successfully undervolt a locked GPU, or have a good guide explaining how to do so?

      Thanks

Here’s a guide for your card. I would again stress the authors warnings and read everything a couple times before starting so you are on the same page. It should be a shame to see such a nice card bricked from a mistake.

Most of it is done in windows, not sure why he says it’s in linux. If you’re unsure of anything I’ll help as I can.

Thanks for the link. Don’t really want to try this on my PC, but might try it out on the rig I am building if I end up going for the Gigabyte r9 280x (these are the only ones I can find available at the moment).

Yea it seems like supplier are just starting to meet demand. Prices are going to fall fairly fast soon I think.
