Why does my hash rate fluctuate on the pool website but stay relatively consistent on my miners? Also, I tried mining in a different pool as a experiment and my has rate was more consistent then on pool A. Could it be the second website not “updating” as fast as the first?

The pools hashrate is calculated based on the shares submitted by your miner, while the miner continuously calculated it’s hash rate. Therefore you need to build an average on the hash rates shown by the pool to get comparable values.
Most pool provide in addition to the actual hashrate a statistic based on 2-8 hours averages. These should be closer to your locally calculated hashrate.

That’s kind of what I was thinking, but didn’t want to assume. The pool also shows my shares a second, is there anyway to increase that? It seems like the more KH/s I have the higher that number is and vs/vrs. Also, since the pool shows what I’ve submitted, I take it different pools have better luck with shares?

At the end the pool fee has more influence on your income than the hashrates, unless you notice a big difference between pools.
Pools showing higher delays have a higher posibility, that the shares you submit are outdated, but I didn’t see any influence for my miner (yes I’ve only one rig running).

If you are really keen on this, use a pool with low delay and best network response time fro your riggs.

Also, if you are not mining 24x7 with one pool, a pool with pps payment scheme is better for you.
