Hashrate drops. 50 FTC bounty

Hi Everybody.
I have been facing a strange problem. This is the 4th rig that I am putting together, the other 3 were working well without any problem, but this last one is causing me a weird problem.
the hashrate drops after couple of minutes of mining, GPU activity also goes to 65%. The hardware that I am using is similar to the previous rigs, nothing is changed. I am using sapphire r9 280x vapor.
this is my config file":setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer --scrypt -I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 11200 --gpu-engine 1080 --gpu-memclock 1500with these settings I am gettign 750 Kh/s per GPU for my other rigs, but this last one goes as high as 650 KH/s then it drops to 540 KH/s, the GPU activity drops also to 64%. I tried changing the motherboard, changing the GPU, the RAM, CPU, Powersupply and harddrive. it didn’t help.
any idea why ?50 FTC bounty for whoever can solve the problem.

If you have adjusted too much GPU core voltage, core clock or memory clock to reduce heat and electric consumption, it could cause GPU (or GPU driver) crash. I faced situation that after crash GPU keep still running, but ~50% hash from what it should be. Put those values back to safe level and come down carefully again. Also reboot was needed if crash had happened. That solved problem with my miner.

I even used the default clocks with 13 intensity. and I don’t see a crash, it keeps running and suddenly drops 200 . The exact same card is working perfectly on other rigs with the exact same clocks,

[/quote]No mention of the PSU here! I had a massive problem running a PSU that just didn’t have enough guts to keep things stable. Try switching just the PSU from one of your other rigs and see what happens

I did. didn’t help. currently I am using a single GPU with 750 W PSU, it should be more than enough

Are you using riser cards/cables?

I would check system BIOS for some kind of economy/green/powersave settings or anything of the sort. It sounds like you’ve checked most of what you would want to. My assumption would be left with BIOS settings.

This sounds like the card could possibly be throttling. What is the temperature of the card before it drops to 65%.

Thought of something else when browsing for a new card for myself, (btw i don’t want coins, just to help you figure this out) but this could also be a possible cause of your issue:

Try setting the power limit to +20% in MSI afterburner.
