yes solved thanks guys. now just need to tweak for the k hash rate :)

Edit: any recommended settings on a HD6850? I heard the card can do 250k/hs but it’s only doing about 70.

          increase intensity to 18-20
See what that brings you. next step is adjusting the thread-concurrency

Have no idea. look what cgminer gives it (check the name of xxxxx.bin file), usually they are pretty spot on.
Go to the litecoin mining hardware guide and see what other people use for that specific card. also you could try out those usual ones like 8192 and 21xxxsomething. just remember that it always is up/down in 64! if you write 8195 for example your in trouble.

when you start up cgminer for the first time it generates an bin file in the cgminer folder, the name of this file reprecent the thread-concurrency setting that cgminer found most appropiate.

really? I can’t find that, there are 3 files with names of x64 multiples I tried but they have names in front, like scryptblablabla…

                      thats it.

it should be named like: scrypt130511Tahitiglg2tc8192w256l4

where tc8192 is the one your after.

Thanks alot, just in case anyone else ever needs to search this: I found a thread concurrency of 3840 seems to work best for this card which is 4x it’s 960 shaders. I also found a workload of 64 seems to up the K/hash. With intensity at 11 I can get about 200 which is short of the 250 quoted for this card but the heat stays at 65C and the desktop is very usable. If I up the intensity I can get closer to 250 but heat rises and desktop becomes gradually more unusable. thanks again :)
