I was wondering about starting CPU mining following wemineftc.com guide but when I start stratum_proxy it is unable to connect to server and it says “time out” after a minute or so. I’ve been searching how to solve this but so far I have been unsuccessful… any ideas? I 've also tried with other pools but I get the same error.

      Thank you in advance!

you have to install a stratum proxy or use a pool that also supports the longpoll protocol.

        Any p2pool would do.

        A list of p2pool clusters is here : http://pool.maeh.org/ftc/p2pools/

a Howto install a stratum proxy is here:

          Thanks for your reply!

I have already got around working with mining proxy. The problem in that specific CPU is that it is behind a firewall (at least that is what I think seeing that it doesnt connect to server, it just timeouts). Is there any way to bypass the firewall, like a proxy inside a proxy? :)
