Cant mine with ScryptMiner GUI (need help)

Hi a noob miner here ,i used Scryptmine GUI and for some reason it doesn’t wanna connect to the server
could someone help me out

This is where I started with mining.
What GPU are you using, or are you trying to mine with a cpu?
Try give as much info as possible as it will make it easier for everyone here to point you in the right direction.

hey caleb thanks for your reply mate
im mining with cpu ,but everytime i press start mining it fails to start
i dont know what the reason is maybe im not loging in properly or somethingGUIminer-scrypt got blocked on my computer before my norton it says it was malware

Hrm. not sure… I’ve never actually tried to mine with a cpu.
In regards to GUIminer-scrypt, you will need to disable norton or add the file to an exception list. It’s a false positive. The program is fine, happens on everyone’s computer.

[/quote]As long as your downloading from the forum link provided, you should be fine.
Everyone reports the same thing. Not all anti-virus software picks it up as a false positive though.
Are you using your personal computer or a rig you’ve set up that does nothing but mine… If your on a rig and not a pc, I would suggest using a linux usb boot and mine with cgminer. takes a lot of load off and doesn’t waste power (though tiny amounts) on resources that aren’t required.

all this mining talk is giving me headaches,just buying the coins seems to be an easier option
but theres hardly anywhere where you can actually buy the coins with credit cards ,theres bittylicious but you need a uk bank account to buy the coins -

[/quote]Your in Australia right? Register with BTC Markets. They’re ok. Create an account, go into ANZ, deposit, the next day your funds should clear. Buy bitcoin, transfer to another exchange like btc-e then sell the btc for ftc. After 48 hours of having an account with em (or 3 days can’t remember the exact time), you can withdraw to your wallet.
It’s not too difficult and builds confidence with trading. That’s how I bought my first lot of ftc.
If mining is causing you grief, buying this way is the best solution… Many mine because of the technical challenge but if you simply just wanna take part and have fun spending ftc or putting away savings, this is the best method.
It’s easy to to get verified with BTC Markets. Just need a drivers license and a couple of other forms of ID. I had to jump through hoops cause I lacked the license but it’s doable.

these new crypton coin merchants look a bit like the banks from the wild west cowboy movies ,only this time they can get hacked while in those times they would get attacked by thugs on horses with guns while carrying the banks monies
in desertsits very unregulated you dont know whos behind the site and what they could do with your info
plus trading with bitcoins to get feather creates more commission and theres the wait time,this wallet that wallet
too complicatedpaypal needs to accept deposit taking on coin trading sites it would be much simpler for everyone and more commissions for them

It’s not gonna happen… Most people will not trade with paypal.
Remember that paypal will take more in the end from you in terms of commission than bouncing it from just 2 exchanges.
I don’t have my license or passport, but I was verified easily. They use a government backed verification company. They’re abiding by the “Know your client” regulations.
I can assure, it’s as safe as it gets. I would be more concerned with leaving crypto’s laying around on btc-e.

i dont think its that easy to get your money back,i think u gotta contact them with a strong case and all the evidence that the tradeoff didnt end well
im still sceptic about it

If you’re talking about it Paypal, yeah, be very skeptical. In regards to BTCM, I’m yet to have a single issue that wasn’t worked out. (Non trade related)
