I am looking at buying https://products.butterflylabs.com/homepage/25-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html to mine feathercoin instead of bitcoin. Based on what I read, it comes with a software to mine bitcoin. Sounds like it may not support Scrypt protocol, is my understanding correct or it is something worth buying?
      Thanks

Ok found the answer, if anyone is looking for it.

Can I use your Bitcoin miners to mine other cryptocurrencies, like Litecoin?
        A
Our ASIC hardware is designed specifically for mining Bitcoins which uses SHA256d as a proof-of-work algorithm to process network transactions. If a cryptocurrency, like Litecoin, which is based on Scrypt, uses a different proof-of-work than that used in Bitcoin, then our hardware will not be compatible.

Correct, you cannot mine Scrypt coins (FTC/LTC etc) with a butterfly labs SHA-256 product.

Answer given already, yup. The question I’d like to ask: is there actually anyone out there who got their butterfly hardware? I only see complains online about not getting shipped and being ignored by their support.
