      Hi All,

Have been looking around all day for a decent supplier of large quantities of powered risers.

      I have seen these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mining-machine-extender-PCI-E-1x-to-16x-riser-adapter-1X-board-3-0-USB-cable-/171224740685?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item27ddca334d

which looked interesting as it would allow us to move the GPU’s further from the board slightly in more flexible way, which leads me to the questions:

Does anyone have experience with these USB risers, and if so are they any good?
Will it work for all 6 GPU slots, or just the single speed ones?

Brill, thanks for the speedy response!

I figured they would need the short if I used them in the larger slots.

One other question, the USB lead - that listing says its a custom lead, so I take it replacing with slightly longer regular ones wont work - has anyone made up longer leads for these?

I haven’t needed to short the 16X slots on the mobos i have when using 1x in 16x track.
With one exception which was an Gigabyte z77 mobo, but that thing has been a bag of hurt the whole way no matter what i do…

I guess its a case of “try it and see” for the sake of a few inches of cable.

Have just found another product which turns 1 PCI-E port into 4… very interesting… lol :D

We’ve had trouble with solid risers as well, sometimes they don’t work. I wish there was a more easy supply, so we could try adding a card to the PCI.

                These looked promising…

until i saw the price, cheaper to build a 4 slot rig.

Ill definitely go down the flexible USB route though, id like to separate the cards a bit more to allow for pipework :)
