Gigabyte r290 - voltage locked ?

Hi,

I have a Gigabyte R290 - but it appears to be voltaged locked - any idea how to unlock it - Gigabyte OC Guru II does not give me any option to modify the voltage.

It’s a reference design based card.

It’s official number is GV-R929D5-4GB-B and it’s a rev 1 board.

I have googled around but there does not seem to be any specific info for this card.

I had to volt mod bios 1 on my giga r9 280x rev 2s to drop voltages

Cant do it on the r9 290 though, these are simply voltage locked.
And the VBE bios program for the 280x doesn’t work on the 290 series (yet)

Questions:

How do you voltage mod - as I have a Giga 280x’s Rev2 card also
Ok - so r290’s are locked - hmm - it’s a bit noisy.

1: Download bios from card with atiflash
2: change voltages with VBE program
3: flash bios back with atiflash
