So I have been looking into Coinos. Coinos is apparently really popular for merchants who want to support crypto currencies. Coinos is open source and works on most tablets and android based systems, it is a POS system essentially. Coinfest and other Canadian based bitcoin groups heavily advertise it. It is widely used in Vancouver by a lot of local merchants that accept Bitcoin.

So far they have not been approached by any other coin community to develop for them. I think we should do it. I have already set up meets with them and hope to discuss the possibility of this. Once this thing is built we can use this to approach possible vendors. it will help us in our quest for further adoption. Let me know what you guys think.

Tell me if you need a Windows developer… I’ve been on the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platform since its release :)

            https://github.com/thebitcoincoop/pos.bitcoincoop.org (the most popular version)

https://github.com/stretch/vanbtc.ca (this seems to be the original one and Coinos was forked from this. I have not heard much about this version nor do I know anyone using this version)

This is the source code for Coinos. I understand some of the words. Rest is beyond my technical abilities

This is a good idea, if you start a [Dev] in technical developments, I’ll pin it.

It’s a web application targeting NodeJS with Coffeescript as the language.

Having said that, please don’t let a lack of experience stop you from getting involved. NodeJS is an AWESOME platform to code in, and I really can’t say enough good things about Coffeescript as a language… and it’ll all be viewable on your Windows Phone.

;D Node.js is not a problem for me!
It made up 40% of my backend server needs, with Windows Azure.

The problem will be the front end development, like UI. but still, its worth taking a look!

Its an ongoing technical discussion. There’s a lot on with other projects, but merchant adoption is an interesting and important project.

This topic has been moved and pinned in Technical development.

CoinOS is a mobile-friendly Point-of-Sale , I think that is a good application, This is a worthwhile thing to do. I think we need to upgrade the block chain, Let FTC support transaction leave a message.

I’ve put an AP up on the trello board for this. We should definitely try to put together a team to work on this!
