One of the things I would love to see is more people working for and spending Cryptos like FTC. But with all the price manipulation it strikes me that you have a few rich bot owners that are trying to get to the top of this pyramid by buying up all the coins (like with FTC order book on BTC-e right now).

I would like to see a currency that makes everyone better off not just a few. Does anyone else share this dream?

I’ve wondered about this too. All the coins seem to be in the hands of very large players. That’s why Bitcoin has been relatively stable, the price is being kept there now and you see wars break out occasionally.

This kind of thing happens with other markets too. I’m not sure how you would control such a thing without a central body dictating value.

There will always be someone with more money, that is a fact, but there will always be someone with less money and bigger balls :), if you look for the bot trading pattern you can still make money, I do, I managed to turn 5BTC into 9.2 BTC this week, this can be done on all crypto’s with some careful analysis & detailed homework.

Merchant adoption, will take time, we have the foundations to build upon via our brilliant community, once we have a merchant payment system in place or url protocol (which I am pushing for) then we will get more merchants on board! 8)

as long as the trolls speculate and try to pull FTC down I don’t think merchants will be willing to adopt it soon, so I can understand chrisj

Remember that Litecoin also faced repeated attempts to ruin its market all of which were ultimately unsuccessful. There were wars between Litecoin and other small coins with abuse coming down Bitcoin. When I started trading and recognised the trolls they incentivised me to investigate the Litecoin that they repeatedly bashed which ultimately only encouraged me.

Coblee said at one point that all the trolling did was ultimately make Litecoin’s presence more felt and helped price and volume.

The battle now is for volume, we want to be a highly traded coin. Volume can be an indication of health as long as it is not all coming from sells. We have value, we have volume so we can be used with merchants. Now that we are past the difficulty adjust and have another one 220 blocks away we can focus on talking to merchants now.

Now that we have teams established, my focus shifts toward aggressive value. Over the next 2 days, I’m working with each team lead on specific goals to position the coin in front of merchants.

I like where this is going. How do we know what worked for Litecoin will work for us and FTC? Is there something constant that is true now that was true then? Are there enough differentiating features/benefits to FTC that LTC doesn’t have? Eg Community like this one?

At the moment we have to seize FTC away from the trolls and greedy manipulators. Is there something like a OTC Web of Trust for Feathercoin? Is there a way Merchants can immediately convert their FTC to Fiat of their choice?

Not unless someone with some serious Fiat is willing to offer this feature.
I remember the same being said when Litecoin was 6cents, I was buying it up then, only fools and their money will ever be parted.
