Let’s the wallet remain a wallet and build a shopping application, that uses the wallet api for payment.

But why not just combine the lot under one UI? Item paid for, tags chain, enter your pass…paid. Sorry Wellen, was thinking out loud, Just seems like common sense to me /shrug

I suppose we should leave some of these other ideas such as the shopping app for either more internal development or potentially a private business venture?

A setup wizard is something else I’d like to see, it should walk you through it and leave you with an encrypted wallet and a scheduled backup with the option to link it to your choice of cloud services. Obviously with a disclaimer.

A shopping wizard,This is my goal too. Wallet must also support FIAT payment and Direct payment. But initially, may just be a shopping guide .

Flobdeth, Lizhi: that looks like the same thing Cloakcoin is going to do… They’re talking about a decentralized market and so on but I think it’s very similar to what you proposed. So it could be seen like an attempt to copy them as they already have the whitepaper out.

Voing, Didn’t know they were tbh. Kris, yes, I agree, way down the road maybe.

I’m not talking centralised nor decentralised. Just make the shops available that accept the “coin” within a wallet UI. Thinking ease of use for purchasing, that was all, coin comes straight from wallet that you used to purchase an item without any fannying about.

But yes, that’s a bit away.

                  Back to topic… :)

I don’t think there is something wrong in copying good solutions (good opensource solutions).

I believe ftc’s core strength is that, out of all the coins, we don’t pick a niche or single element to base our coin around. We should be implementing the best of all the open source material available, then build upon it.

It would be nice to have a single download for everything. The wizard gives you all the choices of which modules you want installed, along with the option of routing all the traffic through the tor network.

If we could have a way for merchants to have their products on their website browsable within this “program” which hosts the ftc wallet as a module, like what flobdeth said, payments could be made directly.

If one was able to only pick one OR as many different modules that they want, it provides a one stop download that could be designed for the average user. I really do believe that simplicity is key. You can’t just have a wallet on it’s own. It’s no use without having an exchange or miner or place to buy goods and services. Right now the amount of accounts for various aspects of been involved in crypto’s is scattered everywhere. Ave Joe cbf’s with all that.

So let’s put it all in one place. Modules could consist of:

                        • Wallet
                        • Social (could it be possible to pull stuff from the forum like followed topics, pm’s etc?)
                        • Link (browsing and/or publishing)
                        • Block explorer
                        • Bitmessage
                        • Tor (or maybe even the tor browser itself as well?)
                        • Shopfront (for browsing both the ftc marketplace and merchants who implement it on their end)
                        • Decentralised Exchange
                        • Team Portal (the organisational aspect wrapper and I tried out with trello etc)
                        • MinerX
