Pool20 is now has DNS on neoscrypt.de. I’ve just been adding a link to the Feathercoin Market and was just remembering how much great work Bushstar did setting up the Feathercoin Market site and how much the community was involved, happy days.

I think it is now an established market that is certainly worth promoting as a major Feathercoin asset.

The market has not been used for any successful sales for several months now and has been closed. A lot of time, effort and money went into that site which was ultimately a sink for all three. Real shame but the issue is one that Calem raised recently, Feathercoin is not money, not at this point in time. Bitcoin is money but no one is spending Feathercoin in that same way, not yet and not at the current market value. With the move to a unique algo and away from hostile agents I hope to change the face of Feathercoin.
I hope to reopen the market in better times and improved as it still required a lot more attention. I did have a security audit carried out on the market which revealed several flaws in the underlying software which needs a major change to the way the site access the database from every single page. It is an overhaul of the site, not just the need for some quick patches.

I think that was apparent when I listed a PS4 for $100 under retail and it didn’t get any interest, or even counter offers, and I couldn’t blame anyone because they’d be spending a lot of FTC and yielding back a value a fifth, or worse, of what their perceived investment was.
I, myself, am sorry I stopped listing things on it, but it was work that wasn’t yielding any results. Feathercoin Market isn’t the only casualty, though, several of the Doge markets have or are considering shuttering their doors as we speak.
Alt-coin integration into OpenBazaar where everyone is on the same page and there’s not a dozen plus sites to check and manage every morning when you wake up may be the way to go in the future.
