      hey guys, I’m looking at all those minignpools and i wondered: is it still possibible (and usable) to setup my own pool??

        The answer to your question is: ‘yes it is possible, but…’

        Technically it os no problem to set up your own pool, just download the sources from Github, install/configure/run it and you have a pool.

        It is a nice learning experience.

        If you want to earm money by running a pool, things become more complicated, as you have to guarantee some availabilty and service to the miners and very often pool operators don’t even earn enough to finance the ongoing cost of running the pool.

          hm…

          well… i’ve setup a pool already in just a few mins (faster than i thought) it was a good experience to know what happens behind a pool. but I don’t have any one mining on it so i probably will take it down.

          it are my own servers (not rented, not leashed, pure mine) so cost is no problem, electricity is ‘free’ here (I pay a monthly fee and can use as much as i want)
