2. Keep an ongoing list of all businesses that support Feathercoin (do we have a Feathercoin accepted here logo?)

3. Revise and utilize the sample merchant letter below. It’s a collection of different information I was able to gather, I’m kicking if off to a professional writer at the end of the week to clean up.

Once the writer’s revision comes back, I’ll post it for community input.

4. I’ll create a Google docs where we can keep track of our progress so we’re not duplicating work.

I wish to humbly request that you begin accepting Feathercoins as a payment method. Iâ€™m not associated with any merchants, payment processors, or anyone who holds a significant stake in Feathercoins apart from a regular user of them. Iâ€™ll give you a brief overview of what they are, how it benefits your customers, and more importantly the benefits to you.

Customers know their credit card details arenâ€™t at risk, which in the age of identity theft is a concern for many.

Perhaps the more important part of the equation is how it benefits you as a company. Clearly for this to work it needs to be a win / win, so Iâ€™ll run through some advantages it would give you.

It opens your business to a wider potential audience. Not only now will you have access to the same customer base as before, you can now include those people who didnâ€™t wish to use a credit card, but wish to have a quick, fast method of payment. In addition youâ€™ll most likely get significant support from the dedicated Feathercoin community who tend to love merchants accepting Feathercoins, and go out of their way to buy from them.
Itâ€™s cheaper for you to do so. Fees are pennies on the dollar. As youâ€™d know this is significantly less than credit card providers, meaning its more money in your pocket at the end of the day.
You no longer have to deal with fraud or charge backs. Payment with Feathercoins is non-reversible, which means that once you receive payment itâ€™s final.
Less reliance on credit card companies. Having a wider range of payment methods lessens your reliance on any one method, and as a result lowers your business risk in the event of any issues down the road with your payment providers.

Feathercoin gives a great alternative to this and I really think itâ€™s a win for everyone.

This afternoon, I’ll update the list of all Litecoin accepted businesses I’m able to track down

I’m already accepting FTC on most of my sites(one in my sig). Another site of mine is on page 1 of “buy feathercoins”. I’m an expert SEO er so if anyone needs their site looked over I’ll do it for any coin traded on vircurex or btc-e. Including DVC, IXC… Doesn’t matter to me.

I actually offer a 10% discount if a user decides to use cryptos… Only made 1 sale via the gox button so far though. :(

Love it! Thank you for helping us into the business community.

Very nice project, however is it possible that you could also add something that would make it easier to create companies that can sell FTC for fiat?

Spending FTC is good, but getting FTC is even better for widespread adoption. I think one of the biggest opportunities missed by Litecoin during the Bitcoin bubble in April 2013 was the fact that people had to go through Bitcoin to get their Litecoins.

If you make it very easy to obtain FTC directly from fiat currency, people will also be more eager to spend their coins as they know they can easily buy some more coins.
Right now when difficulty is so low this might not be so important, but if FTC ever takes off the ground and difficulty rises to a level where normal people can no longer mine the coins, having an easy way to obtain FTC will make a big difference.
