With what hardware?? The very few comments Ive seen here about 7950’s range from 80kh/s to 250+ but it looks like Id need 500+ out of a 7950 just to break even.

One of my rigs, Freya, has 1 290X, 1 280X, and 3 7950s. Depending on your power cost, you may or may not be profitable currently - but it’s still better than mining the major alternatives, X algos, so if you want to mine something as a hobby, I’d suggest FTC.

I’m running 3x NVidia 750ti cards but only getting around 42Kh/s per card.(~120Kh/s total)
The plus is they are very low power at
< 150watts from the wall total for the rig.

Yeah, I’m sure a CUDA miner would help that situation. According to WhatToMine, if you pay 0.07 USD per kWh, you’re just breaking even.

Freya pulls 2215kh/s average, pulling almost exactly 1100W at the wall.

ok, that makes more sense then. People are mining for a hobby or to support the coin rather than for profit. Ive been around crypto for awhile and I understand the idea of hobby mining and supporting a coin you believe in. I still have a number of coins I mined way back as well as some I mined with LTCGear and some I bought when the price started to drop so Im not really looking to increase my stash.

Ive got about 10 7950’s which cost me in the area of $125 a month to run plus the noise. Maybe I’ll throw one in my PC thats on all the time anyway just for kicks…

What kind? If you’re looking to sell some. I’m still profitable.

Mostly all Sapphire’s. I could possibly sell some I guess. I didnt sell months ago as I was hanging onto them for when FTC went to neo. I just fell away from things for awhile.

I did just see that neo uses less power than scrypt so my calculations were off a bit. I also just tossed one in my desktop here and am hashing at 225kh/s. That with the lower power usage makes me JUST break even.

Ive got a handful of 5850’s too if you’re interested! ;)

Nah - I’m quickly running out of power in this place!

                      haha i understand.

I’ll mess with these some this weekend/weekend end and see what I can squeeze out of them. If Im just breaking even I’ll reach out to you if you’re interested in buying them. I would like to keep a few just to play with…

What are we looking for with neo as far as settings? I know with SHA256 it was all GPU speed, memory speed didnt matter. Scrypt liked both to be running high within a ratio. What are we looking for with neo for the best results?

Anyone have any settings that work well for the 7950?

I’m only interested in buying one or two - really cutting it close on the breaker. High memclock, drop the core to save power, as well as volts.
