I know this is similar to the push for RPi use in schools bit as this is backed by a full BBC campaign including TV shows like Dr Who. I do wonder sometimes how much further the industry could be if everyone had at least a basic understanding of technology and coding before deciding to specialise.

I don’t know what everyones experience here was but education wise IT was acorn computers in middle school and word and excel during high school and when I decided to specialise in IT they essentially had to start from scratch.

I studied I.T at school level, but the focus was on spreadsheets and office applications, which is quite upsetting since, I’m not a moron and worked those programs out without lessons. What we need is computer education, computing, and I would have lapped that up.
