This looks like a query error, while the Wemineftc looks like an intentional action. Most people will accept 4-5% differences but 30% is not just a statistical error.

I was in the IRC chat the day all the bad luck was happening, and someone tried to call them out on it. As a response, the website owner told him “fuck you” and banned him from the irc. Almost immediately after, they posted this “news” that there was a “bug in the code” and the rates returned to almost normal.

24/7 charts show steady khs, 1-2% rejected, calculated khs should be ~30% higher, earned the exact same for the past 4 days within the thousandths of a coin…that’s some bizarre luck.

i just hit up coinotron for 24 hrs, and got 26% more payout with a 5% fee, and 4% more rejects…hmm…34% difference.

Anyway, I just wanted people to know about this, will post any updates if I find anything.

humm… just about the same time as the attacks on FTC … weird coincidence … but I have nothing to affirm or inform anything, can just see it as a … weird coincidence …

One of the reasons i’m now soloing. Pool mining puts my hashing power at the mercy of the pool ops. Not saying that pool ops are dishonest but they are not exactly regulated by an official body.

Attacks have been quite ridiculous lately.

seems it’s possibly really a bug.

but they don’t run the bug code but a custom one … and have the same bug … possibly from same original code fork

anyway this is the ref for the scrypt pool code bug (pool operator of FTC should check this, to see if they are vulnerable or not)

Bushstar started looking into this on May 29th and contacted WeMineLTC to see what fix(es) they may have applied. I don’t have any further updates at this time.

I am currently running only a single card (around 650 kh/s). This evening I hope to bring another two cards online and assuming they give me comparable hash rates, I expect to be up around 1950 kh/s. In another weeks time or so, I have the components for another rig arriving and will add another four cards to the mix for total of (hopefully) around 4550 kh/s.

At that point, will it be worth my time to try soloing? Or should I continue pool mining?

Try solo, its great fun, got my first block after 12 hours, only at it for a few days and I’ve made more than double what I would have made in a pool, hell after getting two fast blocs I go into a pool for a 24 hour dip and back out solo mining again. I’m running a 2.7Mhash rig.

In theory you should get the same as if mining with a pool. A pool will generally provide a steady stream of income whereas solo mining will provide nothing until you find a block then all of a sudden you’re 200 up. At the end of the day though it’s largely based on luck. Click on my link above to see the kind of variance to expect.

What hash rate should I have to even attempt solo mining? Currently sitting on a single 7950, but thinking about upping that.

depends on diff setting, its at 133 now so your 610Khash (no overclocking) wouldnt be the best for solo.
