Shopping time?

Hi guys

Newbie here,

there are few places which accepts bitcoin but websites accepting feathercoin and rest are quite rare.

I am thinking of setting a website where people can buy “stuff” from only altcoins, wondering what would you rather buy?

Clothes?

Jewelley?

shopping vouchers? ( dont know how will this work but vouchers for amazon, next, debenhams, pizza express etc etc) any specifc vouchers?

Food?

Books?

Ipod? Ipad? (apple products)

Any of your help will be highly appreciated

Altcoin exchange rates are very volatile, that’s the problem.

thanks for your reply, i think if noone is trading them soon they are going to die. Take feathercoin for example, it is a great learning platform for future “generation”, thousands and thousands of posts, its like a society. i wish i could do contribute something to keep this going,

It really does depend on what your thinking and your appetite for risk…

This time last year I made contact with a local shop keeper (think londis) who was willing to dispatch non perishable goods using parcel2go (was was an agent) for crypto more specifically for feathercoin (shop-ftp.co.uk) we even did a bit of testing on the site selling chocolate bars with a couple of members from here :)

The point being he had the stock, and also had the dispatch method. So all that was left was the guys appetite for risk which unfortunately at the time was swayed by him heading into a divorce

But i’m guessing if you have the tools at your disposal and your willing to take a risk on the volatility of the coin then you could make almost anything happen.

Me personally I would buy as much as I could using FTC providing that the rate was fare and the service was good

The thing is always think too much and end up doing nothing,

Here is what i am gonna do, hopefully by next week

Aim: To Get not Buy 100,000 feathercoins at Â£0.0037: Â£370

Budget: Â£500

Make a website probably feather something, download wallet etc (i still dont have one - i know i am a dimwit!),

and buy 10 ipod (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-iPod-shuffle-2GB-Launched/dp/B009A5EFLQ/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1433619970&sr=8-21&keywords=ipod)

(Why Ipods: because i think thats the most common thing, if someone doesnt want it they can always give as a gift)

Or i dont need to buy it unless someone buys the ipod from me, but that way people will just be sending me coins on just a promise, so thats a no, probably i can link it up to ebay so there is a record, but then i dont need a website plus extra costs in ebay fees, plus i will learn stuff while building a website. OMG I am just rambling now. Another Solution is I can trust people, if they have been in this forum for a while and ones they have receive the ipod they can transfer the feathercoins. But do i need a website for that? Probably Not, but i guess people can add their address and everything. Well i will figure it out somehow…

I am going away till Tuesday, going to start working on it when i am back.

Sorry guys for the rambling, i works in accounts hence the knowledge deficit lol.

Depending how you set up your infrastructure you even won’t need a wallet, but can use one of the exchanges like cryptsy.com or bittylicious.com to receive Feathercoins and exchange to USD or EUR.

Not sure what next to do, Is anyone interested here interested of buying an ipod for coins? Otherwise lets think of something else!!! another idea!

We can open a merchandise / t shirt business ( printing funny feathercoin / bitcoin jokes)?or something, sell it for Â£10 and the profit goes into the community here? i mean many years ago i did this school so how hard can this be. I can put some money towards this if anyone else wants to do it, we would need a a graphics designer and a guy with funny vision i guess.

Or anyone else has any other idea or you think this is all nonsense and i should spend my time watching porn? lol

There are a lot of business ideas, all take some work. That’s why it’s great if you are doing something you enjoy anyway, untill you become more expert.

In business or any venture where you are going outside your normal expertise the first time you do that “new thing”, you must consider that an “investment” and not be reliant on it earning, as it will cost. Businesses have plans, payback projections and such you need to demo and prototype the elements to gain expertise to plan ahead.

Try to look at and think about as being “open source”, why not form a hacker group and start working on some of your ideas with other people, and learn from what they are doing? Sorry if that sound 5 steps back.

You also maybe need to build up your own community, as your post have already broken a number of forum rules regarding, school friendly names, selling and advertising directly on the forum.
