    • RE: Feathercoin? Difficult to Trade?!

      If you have a look at the markets tab @ coinmarketcap you can see where the most volume is being traded from in the past 24 hours.

      When I checked, Bittrex did 70% of the trade volume, with Upbit (Korean - so may be killed off depending on what the government decides to do??) in second at 20%…

      Hey FTC’rs!

      Mandatory newb post incoming…

      I’ve been floating around in the FTC space for a while, first coins received 11/03/2014! Interestingly, I had no knowledge back then, just tinkering as an IT Sysadmin. In the years that followed, I retrained into programming. I’m at a point where I feel like I am now able to start helping out (… looking at you iOS wallet :wink: ) and as such am starting the journey into understanding the blockchain technology. I’m currently getting into Satoshi’s whitepaper on bitcoin, next up - the NeoScrypt whitepaper! Looking forward to it!

      For those wondering - I’ve spent a few years working in Python, with Golang being my primary language for the past year. :ok_hand:

      Personally, I love the ideals of Feathercoin being a coin from the community, for the community with ASIC-Resistance a major part of keeping it, in my opinion, “The People’s Coin”.

      Turns out I’ve been signed up to the forum for 3 years - but never posted… heh…

      Happy New Year from New Zealand!!

      I’ve got a little news to kick the New Year off with a bang for FTC! :tada:
      I’ve migrated all changes as added to the above repos tonight to MatthewHartstonge/featherwallet-core

      Next up, I’ll be looking into binding the new lib into a fork of BreadWallet to make sure everything is happy, then the NeoScrypt implementation :smile:

      @phlosen I agree about the weighting - it would have to be thin/light - take for example Raleway’s thin/light italic: https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Raleway?selection.family=Raleway

      I use Lastpass Chrome extension - generates me my passwords @ 50 chars and an adblocker…
      Too many separate passwords to remember nowadays between work, home, family members…
      Oh the joys of being a sysadmin…

    • RE: Looking to help with marketing

      I’ve been trialling https://bittylicious.com/ in GBP, but international mode does USD->FTC.

      Obviously, you will need to go through their verification process (send a bill, drivers license e.t.c.) before you can use credit card and as of this moment you incur a 10c (fee?) hit per coin.

      But hey, in my case, that can be cheaper than the electricity to mine it! (~12-45c a kWh on wholesale rates)

    • RE: [Dev] iOS Feathercoin Wallet Development

      Breadwallet have done a massive re-architecture and split out core code to breadwallet-core. luckily - this makes compare and contrast with BTC<->LTC super easy as loafWallet followed the move.

      See: https://github.com/breadwallet/breadwallet-core/compare/master...litecoin-foundation:master
      Now it’s a matter of understanding it… :thinking: :joy:

      In terms of NeoScrypt implementation, excuse my noobishness if I’m wrong in these assumptions:

      • Step 1. From what I’ve seen NeoScrypt should be able to be built without without neoscrypt_asm.S as the assembly code has been implemented in C as well :ok_hand:
      • Step 2. Looks like iOS can drop into native C which means that we can bind to the NeoScrypt lib…
      • Step 3. Profit :moneybag:

      Please correct me if my assumptions are wrong here…

    • Enable password managers to do their thing

      Hey team,

      I’ve noticed the login for the forum has autocomplete=off in the text inputs, are you able to disable/remove this as it stops password managers from being able to fill things out. If you open up chrome dev tools, chrome will give you it’s thoughts about it too :stuck_out_tongue:

      (I like being lazy - I don’t want to have to remember/edit>copy>paste my 50 character hash for every device I use all the time :joy:)

      I’ll push what I’ve managed to get to into a Dockerfile to Github over the coming days. :ok_hand:

      Oh! Totally didn’t know about the depends folder!!

      I’m currently trying to do a build from the depends sources and see if everything comes up happy. In my head it makes a lot more sense to use the exact required deps! I was using some devel packages from alpine which hopefully was throwing it off…

      Will update with progress…

      So far I’ve had to add a monkey patch to force OpenSSL to use TERMIOS instead of TERMIO.
      Currently building… fingers and toes crossed XD

    • RE: Alpine Segfault when calling neoscrypt()

      Hey @Wellenreiter!
      Yeah, using whatever the defaults are used on startup (without a config).
      Even with a super default feathercoin.conf file it blows out on first up:

      server=1
      rpcbind=127.0.0.1
      rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
      rpcuser=admin
      rpcpassword=admin
      rest=1

      Now, here’s the weird thing (I thought I’d try as a last ditch effort):
      If I SCP my local chainstate and blocks from Windows into Alpine, it generates a wallet and loads up happily… Even stopping/restarting it it kicks off fine.

      If I run -reindex it’ll progress until it segfaults, then the data becomes corrupt and segfaults yet again calling neoscrypt.
      So it seems limited to first load and blowing out on the first block after 16MB~.

    • Alpine Segfault when calling neoscrypt()

      I’ve been playing around with getting FTC running successfully on Alpine Linux (docker gold standard due to 2MB base size) but am getting a segfault dropping into neoscypt’s neoscrypt_pbkdf2_sha256 function…

      I’ve tried to poke around a little, as it would be nice to have it working on Alpine (musl, not glibc) but I’m at a point where I need a bit of hints around how to debug it, or maybe if I let sleeping dogs lie, and just use deb… haha

      The following stacktrace contains normal startup behavior:

      (gdb) run
      Starting program: /repos/Feathercoin/src/feathercoind
