It is possible to run 2 clients of the same coin (2xftc for example) on the same machine. You simply need to add the -datadir=c:\client1 on the first one and put the config file in there then change the rpcport/port in the feathercoin.conf file to a unique combination. Then on the second client client you specify -datadir=c:\client2 and so on. If you allow one of the clients to use the default location it won’t work.

I can only see why you would want to do the above on a pool though.

The difficulty was 87 and 104 on the 15th of May. Blocks were coming as expected: about one block every 3 minutes on average.

http://explorer.feathercoin.com/chain/Feathercoin?hi=50650&count=500

Your wallet shows blocks coming every 4 seconds on average. This is wrong obviously. You have never had 141K FTC unless on the testnet.

I would recommend trying to set up your own pool.
That way you get some insights into how ftc works, some example of internal db usage for counting shares. How to comunicate between web frontend/db/ftc daemon and so on.

Good learning experience and covers a bunch of the stuff on your list
Also theres alot of info on the matter if you google 8)
Then you just need to learn some functions to generate the random drawing and such

Just wanted to post to say thanks for posting this solution. I followed the same instructions you followed and got stuck at the same point with the same error. This helped me solve the problem and get my cgminer operational. So a thankyou is in order.

Yeap, 13.1 with cgminer 2.11 is what I use. 13.4 gave me ~400khs on default settings with all other cgminers, so I reverted to my old setup and now have ~700khs with a default 7970 settings.

Yes, the the install folder just needs to be copied over the old one… it will not touch your wallet.dat.

In any case, always back your wallet.dat up.

Okay thanks, there are some lines where there is “infinity” what do I do about that? How do I work out the speed? Add them all together and divide by 60?

Or can I just use this:
http://explorer.feathercoin.com/chain/Feathercoin/q/getnetworkhash/60/-60/json
your command gets (from the last 60, only 1 data point).

You will need to take the 60 from the previous one, validate that the number is a valid number), and turn that into the hashrate. I do not have my notes on that in front of me, but essentially take the average, and from that, plug it into the hashrate formula (something like H = h / t)
Will look into that, thank you for your help :)
